Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) - 2013
Dr. Trish Isaacs' Accounting 322 (Income Tax) students provide two levels of free service: income tax preparation service and free assisted self-service tax preparation (FAST). The class partners with the Central Kentucky Economic Empowerment Project and Kentucky River Foothills Community Action Agency to offer basic income tax preparation for those making $50,000 or less.
In the VITA program, student volunteers will meet face-to-face with taxpayers to prepare tax returns for electronic filing.
Offered in the spring, both services are available to anyone in Richmond and Madison County who qualifies, and to EKU students, faculty and staff as well.
