Six Sigma Master Black Belt shares her expertise with EKU Accounting students
On Wednesday, March 30, Dr. Isaacs’ Advanced Management Accounting Seminar students had the opportunity to hear from Ginger White, Corporate Purchasing Finance Director for Cummins, Inc. Ms. White has served in a number of management accounting roles at Cummins during her 16 years with the company, and she has a wealth of experience to share with students. She described her career path and offered advice to students to assist them as they begin their professional careers.
Ms. White, a Six Sigma Master Black Belt (MBB), described the elements of Six Sigma and the impact it has had on Cummins’ performance. She gave examples of projects that have implemented its principles. Ms. White also engaged students in a class activity applying some of the principles.
In addition to the MBB, Ms. White is a Certified Management Accountant, and she holds masters degrees in business administration and strategic finance. She has been actively involved in the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), serving in a number of leadership roles at the local and regional levels. Ms. White serves on the IMA Global Board of Directors. She was the recipient of IMA’s 2014 Exemplary Leadership Award.
