EKU Accounting Students Win PEAK Competition

Five Eastern Kentucky University accounting students brought home the first place trophy from this year's statewide PEAK competition on April 26.  Held in Louisville by the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants, the jeopardy-style event is designed to Promote and Encourage Accounting in Kentucky (PEAK). Becker CPA Exam Review co-hosted the event with the KYCPA.

Isaacs receives Service-Learning Teaching Award

Dr. Trish Isaacs, Associate Professor of Accounting, is a recipient of the 2014 Service-Learning Teaching Award. University Programs presented the awards to several faculty members during an April 3 ceremony.

AFIS selects Don Bornhorst as 2014 distinguished alum

EKU's Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems, along with the School of Business, is pleased to announce that Mr. Donald T. Bornhorst has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2014.

Mr. Bornhorst was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 4, 2014, at the School of Business College to Careers Conference.

Ms. Shelby Howell has been named the 2014 Distinguished Senior for EKU's Department of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems.  She was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 4, 2014, at the School of Business College to Careers Conference.

Scholar Athlete: Stuart Witt

Stuart Witt

Accounting senior Stuart Witt tied for fourth in a field of 74 players at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate Golf Tournament recently held in Sevierville, Tenn. Overall, EKU finished second only to the University of Tennessee.

Witt, from Richmond, Ky., is also a Colonel Scholar and was recognized at the Student-Athlete Academic Awards Breakfast in April.
